โš™๏ธ Best Practices & Tips

๐ŸŽจ Visual Design Tips

Contrast for Readability

  • Test visibility under different Minecraft lighting (day, night, torches)
  • Dark Oak theme works best with light-colored text
  • Light themes (Pale Oak, Light Blue Concrete) work with darker text

Avoid Visual Overload

  • Don't use too many themes in one small area
  • Stick to 2-3 themes per activity for clarity
  • Use Blank theme as a neutral "separator"

Accessibility Considerations

  • High-contrast themes (Green, Blue, Yellow outlines) are better for dyslexia-friendly layouts
  • Avoid red/green combinations for colorblind students
  • Test displays from student viewing distance
โšก Performance Tips

Large Displays

  • Hundreds of letter blocks in one area can affect lower-end devices
  • Segment very large word walls into sections
  • Use Blank theme for less visual processing load

Backup Important Work

  • Large instructional boards are valuable
  • Export world copies regularly
  • Take screenshots of completed displays
๐Ÿ“ฆ Organization Tips

Storage Systems

  • Create themed chests for each background style
  • Label with item frames showing example blocks
  • Pre-stage blocks for specific activities

Activity Preparation

  • Set up themed block "kits" in advance
  • Use Inventory Management to distribute to students
  • Keep frequently-used characters easily accessible

๐Ÿ” Combining with Other Content

Note

The extension adds to the Letter Blocks library - it doesn't replace anything. All your existing blocks continue to work perfectly.

๐ŸŽจ Custom Letter Blocks
